3 Blackburn Rovers players who will be desperate to prove a point as January looms

Blackburn Rovers have made a positive start to this year’s league campaign under the management of Tony Mowbray.

The Lancashire-based side are currently sat tenth in the Championship table after 17 matches, and will fancy their chances of challenging for a top-six finish this term.

Mowbray’s side were beaten by Bristol City in their most recent fixture, which saw them drop to tenth in the second-tier standings, although they are just five points adrift of the Robins, who are sat in sixth position.

In which year were Blackburn founded?

It was their first defeat in their last eight matches though, and they’ll be eager to get back to winning ways at the earliest of opportunities.

With a busy festive period coming up, Mowbray’s men will be hoping they can stay within touching distance of the play-off positions in the Championship, so squad rotation could be key to their chances of doing just that.

We take a look at THREE Blackburn Rovers players who will be desperate to prove a point ahead of January.

Find out who they are, below….

Bradley Dack

Dack is yet to feature for Blackburn this season, after suffering a serious knee injury during the 2019/20 season.

The 26-year-old was in impressive form before picking up that injury, and finished the campaign with ten goals and three assists to his name.

He’s already stepped up his recovery for the Under-23s, and will be eager to pick up where he left off when he does feature for Rovers.

Harrison Chapman

Chapman is yet to make a league start for Blackburn this season, but will be hoping he can be given an opportunity to impress in the coming weeks.

The winger will be hoping he can find regular game time in the near future, although it wouldn’t come as a surprise if he was loaned out in search of that.

Tyrhys Dolan

Dolan has caught the eye with some impressive performances for Blackburn already this season, although he has been restricted to just five league starts this term.

The 18-year-old came on as a second-half substitute against Bristol City in midweek, and you would imagine that he’ll be pushing for a spot in the starting XI in the near future, with a hectic schedule on the way for Tony Mowbray’s side.
