Ola Aina has made the most of his loan spell with Hull City this season.

The youngster has been a model of consistency for the Tigers even though they have had two managers this season. Both Leonid Slutsky and Nigel Adkins have been impressed enough to give him the starting right-back position.

It hasn't been a great season for Hull after being relegated because they have been perilously close to the relegation places a number of times this season, but Adkins has steered them to safety with a few games to spare which has allowed them to stabilise as a club.

The only unfortunate part about Aina's time at the club is that he isn't there permanently because he has a lot of potential. He has been comfortable starting at this level consistently as a 21-year-old, so it shouldn't be long before he is playing consistently in the Premier League, although that is unlikely to be at Chelsea due to how hard it is to break into the first-team.

His time at Hull hasn't been perfect, though, because he does have the occasional bad game as expected from such a young player. The recent 5-5 draw with Bristol City was one of those, and he didn't even last until half-time before being substituted. However, his statistics show how consistent he has been in the long-term.

Three assists from the full-back position is a good haul, but it is defensively where he has excelled. Per game averages of 2.4 tackles, 2.1 interceptions and 2.7 clearances show how involved he has been defensively as well as hinting at the varied traits that are part of his play. Interceptions shows the awareness that he has in defensive areas and clearances are an indication of his adept positioning.

Chelsea have got a real gem on their hands, and other Championship clubs should be aiming to bring him in on loan for next season after his impressive spell with Hull.
