Sheffield United fans will no doubt be disappointed with their club's start to the League One season.

The Blades currently sit 12th in League One, and are four points adrift of the play-offs. Expectations are always high at Bramall Lane, and so far, Nigel Adkins hasn't delivered the results United fans want.

However, there is still 26 league games for the Blades to try to force their way into the promotion race.

The January transfer window could come as a blessing for Nigel Adkins, because if he recruits well in January, this may give Sheffield United the lift they need to improve their form and mount a serious promotion push.

One way in which Adkins may use the transfer window, is to bring hungry, young players in on loan.

Arsenal could be a potential place Adkins looks for this type of player, as Arsene Wenger has many talented youngsters in Arsenal's development squads, who are in desperate need of regular game-time.

Alex Iwobi

Alex Iwobi has featured a few times for Arsenal's senior squad this season, but has not been given a solid run of games by manager Arsene Wenger.

Iwobi, 19, has also made two appearances for Nigeria's senior squad, which shows the talent he has.

The youngster could be brought into Bramall Lane to provide competition up front for the likes of Billy Sharp and Che Adams.

Iwobi is naturally a very versatile player, so can operate as an out and out striker, or as a winger - so he would be a beneficial addition to the squad at the League One club.

Daniel Crowley

Crowley has already had a loan spell in League One this season, as he made 10 appearances for Lee Johnson's Barnsley.

Johnson was unhappy when Crowley was recalled, which speaks volumes for the talent he has.

Crowley, only 18, could definitely enhance the Blades' midfield and add an element of creativity, to help assist the likes of Billy Sharp upfront.

Crowley's experience of plying his trade in League One is a fundamental reason why Adkins should pursue the Arsenal midfielder, as he has already proved he can excel in the third tier of English football.

Glen Kamara

Glen Kamara

At the age of 20, Arsenal midfielder Glen Kamara should look to get some first team football.

The former Southend man is yet to make an appearance for the Gunners, but has impressed enough to earn a call up to Finland's Under 21 side.

Kamara's presence in midfield would be a great asset for Sheffield United if they manage to sign him.

The Arsenal player would add an element of grit and steel in the heart of the Blades midfield, and could be the difference in the club attaining promotion to the Championship or not.
