Cardiff City will be looking to take full advantage of the loan market for the following month as they are within touching distance of achieving a play-off spot.

The South Wales side lie in ninth place in the Sky Bet Championship, five points behind sixth placed Derby County, after a 0-0 draw at Charlton Athletic this afternoon.

The club were put under a transfer embargo late last year that seriously dampened their chances of improving their squad.

While sides around them brought in Premier League quality players, the Bluebirds had to find other options to add quality to the South Wales side.

Their most notable loan signing was Tom Lawrence, who was brought in on loan from Leicester City. The forward has looked lively in his time for Blackburn Rovers, and will be a welcome addition in his native country.

Manager Russell Slade needs to inject further quality into his squad during the loan window, and there are plenty of players up for grabs on a temporary basis.

For example, Arsenal has one of the best academies in the world and has developed some world class players such as Cesc Fabregas and Ashley Cole.

There is plenty of talent on offer, and some of the Gunners youngsters will be itching to test themselves at a competitive level.

Alex Iwobi

Iwobi has made eight first-team appearances this season, and it was thought he will be loaned out soon to get extra game time.

The youngster has two caps for Nigeria and looks set to have a bright future for both club and country.

The 19-year-old has been with the club since 2004, signed a professional contract in 2015, and has dazzled the club's management thanks to his electric pace and mesmerising skill.

He is being described as the ‘perfect’ player by many of Arsenal’s coaching staff, and is looking unlikely that he will gain regular football at the Emirates this season.

A short term loan to Cardiff could really indicate his true potential, and the Championship side really need some more firepower after losing Joe Mason and Kenwyne Jones.

Dan Crowley

The young midfielder is being dubbed as the ‘next Jack Wilshere’ and is considered to be one of the brightest talents coming through the academy at Arsenal.

Crowley has made a name for himself with his precise passing, midfield forward drives and dead-ball skills.

The 18-year-old spent time at Barnsley on loan this season but returned to Arsenal, only not to get any nearer to regular first-team football.

Crowley impressed with his time in League One, and Cardiff could give him that opportunity to see if he can thrive in first team involvement in the Championship.

As good as Arsenal are at giving young players a chance, it remains unlikely that he will ever make the grade at The Emirates.

Aaron Eyoma

At the age of 19, the Nigerian signed his first professional contract with the North London side this month.

Likewise to Crowley and Iwobi, he is being highly touted to become a big hit in the top-flight for many years to come.

Eyoma was a prominent feature of the Under-18 squad last season, as his versatility took him all over the pitch.

He scored five times for the Arsenal Under-18 side, and scored another in just two appearances with the UEFA Youth League.

Cardiff is lacking someone of Eyoma’s calibre, and he would be a perfect addition to the squad.
