Reading have been one of the surprise packages of the Championship this season and going into the international break, they sit fourth in the table.

In a division that is more competitive than we've seen in years, it's a real credit to Reading and new manager Jaap Stam, who has done a fantastic job since taking over at the helm.

He's made them into a side that are hard to beat at home, and one that can pick up really useful results on the road too.

But with some tough pre-Christmas fixtures on the horizon, getting as many points as possible to keep pace with the front-runners is essential.

But in this article, we want to open the vault and take a look at some Reading wonder-strikes from over the years.

So sit back, relax and enjoy as we take you through THREE Reading goals you've probably forgotten about...

Garath McCleary

Club stalwart Garath McCleary seems like part of the Madejski furniture, he's been at the club for so long.

But it was this strike in the 2013/2014 season in a home game against Burnley that kicks starts our list.

To take the hit on the volley here shows fantastic skill, that if we're being honest, we've seen time and time again from the Englishman.

Nick Blackman

Despite losing 2-1 at the KC Stadium last season, Reading produced one of the goals of the season and perhaps one of the best passing goals we've seen in recent times.

There was fantastic build up play all over the pitch which ended with Nick Blackman rifling the ball into the top right-hand corner, much to the delight of the Reading supporters behind that goal.

It was more Barcelona than Championship and a move like that more than deserves to be in our list.

Marek Matejovsky

Rarely do we see Liverpool concede such wonder-goals infront of their own fans but this Marek Matejovsky strike was pure class.

After Alvaro Arbeloa's foul on the left-hand-side, the ball finds it's way to Matejovsky who absolutely rifles it into the top corner, with the Liverpool keeper unable to move even an inch to prevent it flying home.

A stunning strike to round off our list.
