Despite winning promotion back to the Championship at the beginning of the week, the end to Barnsley's week could be set to jangle nerves amongst the Oakwell faithful.

The Tykes go into the last day of the season against Bristol Rovers, hoping that it won't be the last time that they see goalkeeper Adam Davies play for the club.

The 26-year-old has been a regular between the sticks this term, in a Barnsley defence that currently boast the best defensive record in League One after an impressive season.

But, with his contract set to expire at Oakwell next month, the shot-stopper hardly satisfied fans with his latest claims, offering a cryptic update on his future at Oakwell.

If the worse was to happen and Davies were to leave Oakwell, we take a look at three replacements that Daniel Stendel should consider...

Keiren Westwood

`

Westwood is currently facing an uncertain future at the Tykes' local rivals Sheffield Wednesday, having endured a pretty wild season at Hillsborough.

The 34-year-old didn't feature for the Owls for the best of a year under Jos Luhukay, but has since been a regular for Steve Bruce in the second-half of the campaign.

But there has been no further update on Westwood's contract situation at the club, with his current deal set to expire in the summer.

A move to Oakwell may raise a few eyebrows, but a short trip across Yorkshire could be a good move for both Barnsley and Westwood himself.

Fraser Forster

It would be a real coup for Barnsley if they were to land a player like Forster, but given his current situation at Southampton, it wouldn't be too impossible at all.

The experienced shot-stopper is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Saints this season, and has even made a couple of appearances for the under-23 side after being completely frozen out at St. Mary's.

A tall, commanding goalkeeper, Forster would be a tremendous addition.

Freddie Woodman

Having made just four senior appearances for Newcastle since emerging through the youth ranks, Woodman must be a player who is desperate to leave the club in the summer, whether that be on a loan deal or for good.

The 22-year-old has been limited to just three appearances this term, all of which came in the FA Cup.

The England under-20 World Cup winner is at an age now where he has to receive regular game-time, and a move to Oakwell would be beneficial for him.
