After a season that ended in disappointment with Aston Villa, midfield man Mile Jedinak is enjoying a decent World Cup with Australia.

The captain has been a key man for the Socceroos, scoring from the spot in the 2-1 defeat to France and doing the same in the draw with Denmark.

And, he was a key figure against the Danes, anchoring the midfield and helping them control the play with Huddersfield's Aaron Mooy.

As our graphic shows, he helped his country keep the ball, making 60 passes with a very good success rate of 83.3%. Whilst he does keep it simple, it allowed Australia to grown into the game and they will have been disappointed not to win by full-time.

Additionally, he highlighted his clear defensive strengths, winning three aerial duels and positioning himself well to deal with the direct threat posed by Denmark.

The result kept Australia's World Cup hopes alive, with the country needing a win from their final group game, hoping other results go their way.

For Villa, fans will hope that Jedinak can take this form into the new season as he is sure to be a key player for the West Midlands side.

Their financial situation means several players will leave however Jedinak may be one to stick around and his experience may be vital in a new-look side.
