After a hugely impressive campaign with Bristol City, a host of top-flight clubs are believed to be interested in signing Adam Webster this summer.

The 24-year-old arrived at Ashton Gate from Ipswich Town last summer, for a reported fee of £3.5million, and was brought in to replace Aden Flint who moved on to Middlesbrough.

The former Portsmouth defender certainly hasn’t disappointed since his move to BS3, making 47 appearances for the Robins in all competitions and forming a solid defensive partnership with Tomas Kalas last season.

Now, it is claimed by the Mirror that Burnley, Newcastle, Southampton and Watford are all interested in landing the towering defender this summer, with City braced for a hectic summer in terms of incomings and outgoings.

Lee Johnson has already lost a key defender in Lloyd Kelly to AFC Bournemouth this summer, and there will be a real need to replace Webster if he were to leave as well.

We take a look at three replacements City must consider if he does leave for the Premier League this summer...

Liam Lindsay

Barnsley defender Liam Lindsay is attracting plenty of interest already this summer, and it’s no wonder why.

The 23-year-old player an influential role in helping the Tykes win automatic promotion from League One last season, helping Daniel Stendel’s side concede the fewest amount of goals in the division alongside Ethan Pinnock.

West Brom, Stoke City, Brentford and Middlesbrough have all been linked with the Scot’s signature, and Italian side Brescia have saw a £1million bid be turned down for the centre-half.

He’s a young, upcoming defender who would be a perfect fit if Webster were to leave.

Grant Hanley

Hanley is an experienced player that could be available for a bargain price this summer.

The 27-year-old made just nine appearances in the Championship for Norwich City last season, falling down the pecking order behind the likes of the impressive Ben Godfrey and Christoph Zimmermann.

He knows what it takes to be successful in the Championship, and would be a smart acquisition for the Robins.

Ciaran Clark

Another experienced player who has fallen out of favour at his parent club is Clark.

The 29-year-old made just 11 Premier League appearances last season for Newcastle United, and with only two years remaining on his contract, time is running out for the defender to make an impact at St. James’ Park.

He guided the Magpies to the Championship title in 2017, and would be another solid signing for City.
