Aston Villa face a bit of a crisis both on and off the pitch ahead of the new season.

After failing to win promotion via the play-offs, Aston Villa have been hit with financial woes, meaning that they face an uncertain summer.

Many of their star players could be sold this summer, including vital centre-half James Chester.

This would come as a massive blow to the Villans, who have already been hit with the news that John Terry will not be staying at the club due to their financial woes.

With Christopher Samba also leaving, Aston Villa are left with just Tommy Elphick - who has been deemed not good enough - at centre-half.

But Steve Bruce wants to re-sign last season's loan defender Axel Tuanzebe on another temporary deal from Manchester United.

Is this good business for Villa? We look at his stats from last season and consider whether they should go for this.

Tuanzebe only played five games for Aston Villa as he struggled to replace Chester and Terry at the back.

The 20-year-old also had his injury concerns, keeping him out of the play-offs.

But when he played, he impressed with 3.2 tackles per game, 3.8 clearances per match and 3.4 aerial duels won in each outing.

The England youth international is still young and a raw talent but he is strong, quick and a very good defender who could really come into his own next season on loan.

With Terry and potentially Chester leaving a major void in central defence, Tuanzebe is the one-year quick fix to this problem and he could help firm things up at the back.
