Tony Pulis takes his Middlesbrough side to Carrow Road to face Norwich City tomorrow afternoon on the back of a pair of frustrating home results in the past week.
Last Saturday, Boro were knocked out of the FA Cup late on against Brighton and Hove Albion thanks to the most fortunate of Glenn Murray goals, before they were held to a 0-0 home draw against Sheffield Wednesday.
Despite that, they are still eighth in the league, just two places and three points off the final play-off spot, currently occupied by Fulham, another side Boro dominated but failed to put away last month.
Although the results haven’t quite been there, Boro have been playing well lately under Pulis and that means that I would not expect to see a great deal of changes for the trip to face the Canaries, despite a busy evening on deadline day.
Jack Harrison has joined the club on loan from Manchester City, and watched the 0-0 stalemate against Wednesday. Martin Braithwaite has returned to France and joined Bordeaux, and I would expect Harrison to get the nod for his first start against Norwich, on the left wing.
Mo Besic is a talented player, who would hope to dislodge Grant Leadbitter in time but I’m not sure he will have enough match fitness to start just yet.
Apart from that, I would keep the rest of the team as it was for the visit of Wednesday. Boro have been defending well so the back five shouldn’t change, especially not now Cyrus Christie has left for Fulham.
Adama Traore has been flying lately and him, Harrison and Britt Assombalonga alongside Stewart Downing have the quality to unsettle any defence in this league.
