Marcelo Bielsa might lack experience of the English game but he will fully understand how important this transfer will be for his Leeds United side.

Leeds’ start to the Championship season has been superb, with the Whites playing an exciting brand of football, which has left them with their best shot of returning to the Premier League in some time.

Yet, the Whites aren’t convincing everybody and work is still to be done this month.

A new goalkeeper is clearly needed, whilst there are other areas of Bielsa’s side that he would surely like to strengthen, particularly after losing a player of Samu Saiz’s ability just before Christmas.

What happens in the next four weeks could be the difference between another year in the Championship or a shot at the Premier League, so Leeds have to get their business bang on.

Here’s a look at what we believe they need to do…

Darlow has to be the goalkeeper Leeds get.

He’s been in the Championship and done it with Newcastle, who must be open to his departure after he fell down the pecking order.

Signing the 28-year-old has got to be a priority.

Baker signed on loan from Chelsea in the summer but he’s not had an impact at Leeds.

The midfielder’s chances have been limited, but when they’ve come he hasn’t been good enough.

Leeds should really offload him to free up another loan space in their squad then target a fresh face.

This signing is one that Leeds’ supporters really want to see.

Gomez is high-profile and would be an outstanding option for the Whites on the wing.

The 29-year-old has worked with Bielsa previously and would add a great dimension to Leeds’ attack.
