According to TWTD, Ipswich Town are to sign Nottingham Forest's Mustapha Carayol.

Forest did not cover themselves in glory last night as they lost to Preston 3-0 with a performance that had many fans pretty unhappy.

For sure, Aitor Karanka won't have been pleased with what he saw whilst in other recent games he will have also got a good idea of who could be worth keeping and who it's time to let go.

And, with plenty of rumours about who could sign floating about at the moment, it looks as though the Spaniard has decided to let Carayol go before the deadline tonight at 11pm.

The 29-year-old winger is out of contract at the end of this season with Forest and this year has been limited to playing time more often than not.

The likes of Barrie McKay and Ben Osborn have been preferred to him in the Forest side this season and it now looks as though he's going to try and ply his trade for the Tractor Boys for the next chapter in his career.

The Verdict

It's probably a good deal for all involved.

Carayol, though he has featured a bit recently, hasn't really done much this season for Forest and needs to be playing more regularly.

And, with his contract up in the summer, it's probably best that this one has been sorted now instead of dragging on.
