West Bromwich Albion snapped up a crucial win away to Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday night winning 3-2 at Loftus Road.

Jefferson Montero gave the Baggies an early lead firing home confidently from deep inside the penalty area but the hosts fired back through Luke Freeman to ensure they went in level at half time.

Another of Darren Moore's January signings restored the advantage for West Brom as Jacob Murphy converted a swift counter-attack after the hour.

Once again, though, the hosts responded as Tomer Hemed converted from the spot with 15 minutes remaining but it would be West Brom who came away with the spoils as Jake Livermore fired home a 94th-minute winner.

It is a win that takes them to within a point of the automatic promotion places, putting the pressure on Norwich, Sheffield United and Leeds in the process.

It was a match that also fully endorsed two of Moore's January recruits and here, we take a closer look at one of their performances.

Montero's arrival on January's deadline day came as a welcome surprise. With Harvey Barnes being recalled by Leicester City and Matt Phillips struggling with an injury, attacking reinforcements were needed.

The Ecuadorian showed flashes of brilliance last night and showed the travelling fans that he could be a huge help in their quest to win promotion.

A very well taken goal set the tone for the evening and he was always willing to take on his man, although only managed to complete one dribble in his hour-long appearance.

His pass success of just under 67% is decent for a winger, but can no doubt be improved as the closing stages of the season play out.

Having had a spell on the sidelines earlier in the campaign, it is perhaps understandable that the 29-year-old is not quite up to speed just yet, but he showed more than enough for fans to be very happy with his arrival.
