Following his release by Sunderland, Victor Anichebe is on the lookout for a new club and Birmingham City just could be the perfect option.
The Nigerian forward, it would be fair to say, endured a mixed season under David Moyes on Wearside as the club meekly succumbed to relegation.
Anichebe scored three times for the Black Cats last season but was mainly played on the left side of midfield and not in his natural position of striker.
Still, he would be perfect for the Championship, with his strength and hold up play making him a viable option in leading the line. Creating space for himself and others, the former Everton man is certainly a handful.
Over the course of his career, he’s earned 11 caps for the Nigerian national team scoring 1 goal it is fair to say he isn’t the most prolific of strikers.
However, he has never played in the second tier of English football that might suit him better. Dropping down a level may be the only option he’s got left and an upwardly mobile side such as the Blues could be an attractive option indeed.
Do you think he would suit the Blues let us know ?
