Andre Ayew is somewhat the forgotten man at Swansea City, with the striker currently out on loan at European giants, Fenerbahce.

The Ghanaian international struggled to make a serious impact with the Turkish side, but the 28-year-old does have three goals to his name in 12 league starts.

Turkish media outlet, Aksam, have reported that Fenerbahce are keen to extend Ayew's deal with the club, but the hefty release clause in his contract from Swansea appears to be the stumbling block, although the Turkish club are hoping to secure another loan deal.

It is also understood that the forward is hoping to extend his stay in Turkey beyond this season and seems to be adjusting well to his new surroundings, playing a regular part in both the Turkish league and Europa League competition.

Ayew has a contract with Swansea until 2021.

The Verdict

Not even the most optimistic Swansea fan will see a return for Ayew, with the forward seemingly enjoying life over in Turkey.

If Swansea are to gain promotion back to the Premier League this season then we could potentially see a future for the striker at the club, but if they don't, then I can see him moving on permanently after this loan spell.

Ayew has never been that clinical, with Swansea's option of Oli McBurnie seemingly the way forward for the Welsh club under Graham Potter.
