Leeds United are on track in the Sky Bet Championship and look the real deal for promotion this season.

Kemar Roofe's brace against QPR at the weekend helped the Whites to their fourth win on the bounce, and Marcelo Bielsa's men now sit five points clear of the play-off places in second position.

You have to say that if Leeds can just add a little of bit of depth here and there in January, then the Whites could definitely be on the track to promotion to the Premier League.

One area that definitely needs strengthening is their goalkeeping options - with Chelsea loanee Jamal Blackman departing the club after breaking his leg last month. Leeds undeniably need back-up for Bailey Peacock-Farrell, who has been impressive in between the sticks this season.

This is a dilemma that Bielsa has tried to resolve having already been linked with the signings of Tom Heaton and David Stockdale from Burnley and Birmingham City respectively.

The latest transfer rumour claims that Leeds, as well as promotion rivals Aston Villa, have declared an interest in signing Newcastle United shot-stopper Karl Darlow - and Leeds should go all out to sign him.

The 28-year-old has made just one appearance for the Magpies this term and has been deemed surplus to requirements, having lost his place in the side to Martin Dubravka.

Darlow is a very astute goalkeeper at Championship level - he was instrumental in Newcastle's title winning season a couple of years ago and was also impressive at Nottingham Forest.

Reports from The Sun claim that he could be available for a price of around £4million in January, with Leeds needing to be making this their number one priority for the New Year.
