Ipswich Town outcast Kevin Bru is seeking a move away from Portman Road this summer amid interest from clubs abroad, reports 5plus Dimanche.

The 28-year-old moved to the Suffolk-based club back in 2014 after short stints with Levski Sofia, Istres, and US Boulogne, and has since gone on to play 93 times for Mick McCarthy’s Tractor Boys, bagging four goals in the process.

However, only 28 of those appearances came last season as the Mauritius international struggled to nail down a regular first team spot, and the writing has been on the wall for the midfielder over the summer after he wasn’t given a squad number by McCarthy for the 2017/18 campaign.

And with his future clearly lying away from Portman Road, Bru is seeking a move away this summer, with the man himself confirming that he has received offers from abroad.

He said: ‘I want to leave Ipswich Town to go somewhere else.

‘My objective is to train as much as possible to be physically ready if I am forced to change clubs during the transfer window.

‘I have had offers from France and abroad. I am waiting to make the right choice. If nothing happens I have one year of my contract left at Ipswich.’

These comments are sure to intrigue Ipswich fans, who haven’t seen the best of Bru since his move to the club three years ago, and are now unlikely to see him don the blue of the club again.

McCarthy’s men have started the season with two wins from two in the Championship as they seek to build upon last season’s frustrating 16th place finish in the second tier, yet it doesn’t appear that Bru will be part of things at Portman Road.

The Verdict: Kevin Bru slowly but surely saw his gametime reduce as the 2016/17 season went on, to the point that he started just four games in the second half of the campaign.

And the writing was on the wall for the 28-year-old earlier this summer when he wasn’t given a squad number by manager Mick McCarthy, as clear an indication as any that his time at Portman Road was up.

Yet he has received offers to leave the Tractor Boys this summer, and his recent comments suggest that he’s keeping his options open, to the point that he would even honour his final year at Ipswich if need be.

Ultimately though, it does appear as though the midfielder will be on his way out of the club this summer.
