Queens Park Rangers' season gets underway this weekend in the Sky Bet Championship as they host Millwall at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in what should be a cracking game.

Both London clubs will be looking to challenge for the play-offs at least this season and the Hoops have been busy this summer reshaping their team and squad in order to put such an assault on the top six together.

Indeed, their business has impressed many onlookers and they now seemingly have a squad that is going to be robust enough to deal with the trials and tribulations a Championship campaign throws up.

That in mind, we're taking a look at what Rangers' strongest side could well be as things stand on paper at least, before things like form and performances begin to start changing Mark Warburton's mind...

Seny Dieng had a phenomenal campaign last year as he established himself as the club's number one and R's fans will be pleased to see that he is sticking around for this coming campaign.

Both Joe Lumley and Liam Kelly have moved on and it's now up to Jordan Archer to try and push for a starting spot in the QPR side.

As it stands, though, the number one jersey is very much Dieng's to lose and he will naturally be first choice for Rangers to start with.

Moses Odubajo has spent most of the summer training with Rangers in a bid to prove his fitness and ability and it would appear that he has done exactly that, with QPR signing him onto a contract in the last week or so.

He and Osman Kakay look set to battle for the right-wing-back spot this season but you get the feeling it'll be Odubajo that kicks off the campaign in this role.

He'll be eager to show what he can do for Rangers this season, especially after a tough time at Sheffield Wednesday last campaign.

Rob Dickie could have a really big year for Rangers in the 21/22 campaign.

The centre-half shone last season for the club and adapted very well to Sky Bet Championship life, with some reports earlier this summer even suggesting he could be set for a move to the Premier League.

That seems to have proven paper talk and little more, however, and now he can focus on potentially being one of the best defenders in the league this year.

Certainly a player to watch this season.

Jordy de Wijs is back for another season and this time he is on a permanent deal, with Rangers opting to trigger the option-to-buy clause that was in his loan agreement from Hull City.

He's a no-nonsense centre-half that will put his head and foot in anywhere and you need that kind of fight at the back in the Championship.

He adds real steel to the QPR back-line and complements both Dickie and Yoann Barbet either side of him with the way they like to play the ball.

Yoann Barbet perhaps deserved more credit than he got last season with a number of performances impressing at the back.

He's very neat on the ball, reads the game well down the left-hand side and can also deliver great crosses from deep, as well as chipping in with the odd goal.

A move to a back-three really helped him last year and you would expect that trend to continue this season coming.

Lee Wallace and Sam McCallum should enjoy a good battle for a starting spot this season at QPR, and both will likely get plenty of game time.

Wallace really came into his own towards the end of last season with him bombing up and down from wing-back, earning a new contract in the process.

He could just edge McCallum at least to start with but the young defender has got real quality and has made this area of the squad very strong now.

Stefan Johansen was arguably the loan signing from last year that Rangers fans wanted to see return most of all.

Charlie Austin obviously had a huge impact, too, but Johansen's work in the middle of the park made Rangers a completely different outfit, toughening them up and giving them guile and class in a crucial area of the pitch.

He's back for good after sealing a switch from Fulham, and is going to be pivotal this year for Rangers.

There's set to be a real fight for the other spot alongside Johansen this season and that is a good thing for the Hoops.

Sam Field perhaps would perhaps have got the nod more than most this year but he is going to be missing the first portion of the season and so it's really up for grabs.

Dom Ball, Andre Dozzell, Luke Amos and Charlie Owens will be among those trying to get involved, and we're just siding with Dozzell to start with.

Ilias Chair, like Dickie, could have a huge season in front of him this year.

Chair is the sort of player you see following the likes of Ebere Eze and it's about at this point in his career where we could see him have a really explosive campaign.

If he can help Rangers into the play-offs then he could well attract the interest of some Premier League sides next summer, but that is all in the future and a 'what if' right now.

For Chair, it's about taking each game as it comes and performing to his maximum - let's see how he does.

Charlie Austin is back on a permanent basis and Rangers fans will naturally be pleased about that.

He's a talismanic figure for the Hoops and proved that he's still got plenty to give out on pitch last season with some crucial goals.

He brings extra character and top experience to the Rangers' and you can see him bagging some vital goals between now and May as the club aims for the top six.

He's also been hugely important in helping his strike partner along...

Lyndon Dykes will be looking to pick up from where he left off as he ended the season in fine style.

He took a bit of flak at the start of the campaign last year with him struggling for goals from open play but the arrival of Austin seemed to really help him and they dovetailed nicely.

At times we could well see Warburton shake the system up a little bit and Chris Willock will be factored in in a deeper role but, for now, we're going with Dykes and Austin up top - though it is clear that the whole QPR squad will be used this season.
