Sunderland have had a promising start to the season, but a 3-0 loss to Peterborough before the international break put a real dampener on the campaign.

The match showed the problems that Jack Ross may face in future weeks, and ill-discipline saw both Charlie Wyke and Luke O'Nien receive red cards.

The Black Cats travel to Accrington Stanley this weekend looking to move up the league and into the League One play-off places.

After last season's play-off final heartbreak, Ross's side will want to go one step further and achieve promotion to the Championship.

Sunderland will be looking to bounce back on Saturday, but how will Jack Ross line his side up?

Here is what we expect to see...

After what hasn't been a bad start to the season, Ross won't be looking to rotate his squad too much especially after having a break in the league due to the international fixtures.

The Black Cats have found themselves in luck though, versatile defender, O'Nien, has been made available for selection after his red card was overturned, meaning that he can play this weekend.

Accrington sit 19th in League One after a slow start to the season and will be hoping to kick on with a massive victory against Jack Ross's side. They'll be happy with the omission of Sunderland striker, Wyke, who also saw a red card last time out which was not overturned.

Ross is expected to bring Will Grigg into the side, although the forward is yet to score a league goal this season and that will be a worry for the manager.

Apart from that, it should be the same lineup and formation that faced Peterborough, although there will be a place for Chris Maguire on the bench having returned from injury. In his last game for Sunderland, the striker scored a hat-trick against Wimbledon, so supporters will be delighted to see him return.

Denver Hume is hoping to have recovered from a knock which saw him miss the defeat at Peterborough and should start alongside Maguire on the substitutes' bench.

Ross will be hoping that he can get a reaction from a very similar side that started in the 3-0 defeat, but with strong options on the bench, he may look to his substitutes as a crucial part of the trip to the Wham Stadium.
