Birmingham City will be looking to build upon their recent victory over Luton Town by securing a positive result against Cardiff City tomorrow.

Since opting to appoint Pep Clotet as their caretaker head coach in June following Garry Monk's departure, the Blues have made an encouraging start to the 2019/20 campaign.

As well securing eye-catching victories over the likes of Brentford and Charlton Athletic, Birmingham have also illustrated that they are more than capable of picking up points when they are not necessarily at their best.

Although the Blues have struggled at times on their travels this season, they will fancy their chances against a Bluebirds side who have won just one of their last five league games.

Whilst Jefferson Montero is set to miss the clash due to injury (via the Birmingham Mail), the likes of Odin Bailey and Jacques Maghoma will be pushing for a start at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Here, we take a look at the XI we expect Clotet to go with against Cardiff...

Having opted to use the 4-4-2 formation on numerous occasions this season, Clotet will stick by this particular set-up tomorrow.

Lee Camp is expected to start in goal and will be aiming to keep his fifth clean-sheet of the year against Cardiff.

Kristian Pedersen and Maxime Colin will occupy the full-back positions whilst Marc Roberts will accompany Harlee Dean in the heart of Birmingham's defence.

Ivan Sunjic will be aiming to continue his impressive start to his Blues career in central midfield with Jude Bellingham set to line-up alongside him.

Whilst Fran Villalba will start on the left-hand side of midfield, Dan Crowley will feature on the right.

Whereas Lukas Jutkiewicz should keep his place up-front following his goal against Luton last week, Clotet may opt to replace Kerim Mrabti with Alvaro Gimenez at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Although it is fair to say that the 28-year-old has yet to set the Championship alight since his summer switch from Almeria, his physicality could help the Blues secure all three points on their travels.
