After such a big win against Millwall at the weekend, Leeds were brought back down to Earth somewhat on Tuesday morning when it was announced the Barry Douglas would now miss the rest of the season.

Douglas only entered the action as a substitute on the 46th minute but had to limp through the final stages of the 3-2 win with Marcelo Bielsa having made all three of his substitutes.

And it now turns out that he suffered damage to his medial ligament and is facing two to three months on the sideline.

The 29-year-old has made 25 Championship appearances this season since arriving from Wolves in the summer, racking up four assists in the process.

It is an injury that will likely see versatile attacker Ezgjan Alioski continue on the left-side of defence until the end of the season, but leaves the club with very little cover.

But how will Alioski be feeling following this update to his teammate?

The Macedonian has been brilliant at left-back so far this season, relentlessly running to add something to the attack whilst remaining solid in defence.

But he will surely begin to feel the pressure now, however.

Aside from himself and Douglas, Leeds are incredibly short of people capable of playing in that left-back position.

So he may start going into games knowing that if he gets injured, it could be extremely damaging to his side, which could in turn lead to a drop in performance standards.
