Lincoln City face their tenth game in 34 days this weekend as they travel to Wycombe Wanderers in an early top-of-the-table clash.

The Imps have won five and lost four of their opening encounters, with League One wins against Fleetwood, Southend, Rotherham and Accrington backed up with a fine EFL Cup win at Huddersfield.

However, fixture congestion has taken its toll and they lost to Doncaster in midweek with a winger at right-back, finishing the game with a left-back at centre half.  Danny Cowley raged after the game about the unfair nature of the fixtures, with Doncaster Rovers having played two matches in the same period the Imps played four.

This weekend is no different, Wycombe have had a week's break whilst the Imps played Rovers in the EFL Trophy, but Cowley will still have a strong squad to choose from. Here is the lineup we expect to see at Adams Park.

The defeat at Doncaster wasn't easy on the eye, but the multiple changes were made with several players' fitness in mind. Grant Smith played in goal, but he'll be replaced by Josh Vickers who is the first choice for league games.

Across the back, only Michael Bostwick is a doubt for the fixture. If he isn't fit enough for the game, Cian Bolger will partner the veteran Jason Shackell at the back. Bolger started the season as a first-choice centre back courtesy of Shackell's suspension and is an adequate replacement for their inspirational hard man Bostwick.

Neal Eardley and Harry Toffolo will be either side of the defence, with Toffolo impressing already this season with a goal and assists rampaging down the wing.

Another enforced change sees Joe Morrell drop out of the side as he's on international duty with Wales. He'll be replaced by Michael O'Connor, another player who started the season as a first choice. On-loan Everton man Callum Connolly made an impressive start to life against Fleetwood with an assist and he'll be the other holding midfield man.

It will almost certainly be a case of 'as you were' ahead of them. The Imps have a glut of skilful attacking players, but recent signing Jake Hesketh isn't fit and won't be challenging for a start.

Bruno Andrade has done well from the bench this season, he's bagged twice already, but Jorge Grant is amongst the division leaders for goals and assists with four. He'll get the nod on the left, with the bullish Harry Anderson on the right.

Jack Payne is the star of the show for Lincoln and he'll pull the strings tucked in behind the centre forward. He's tricky in possession, although he did give the ball away for one of the Doncaster goals late on in Tuesday's game and will be mindful of that.

Tyler Walker will start up front. He's got four goals so far this season, including an impressive brace against Fleetwood last week.
