Wigan Athletic will look to end their ten-game winless run on Monday night, when they travel to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers.

That run, which has also contributed to the Latics being without an away win so far this season, means that Paul Cook's side go into this local derby bottom of the Championship standings, although a win would lift them out of the relegation zone ahead of Christmas.

For their part, Blackburn are tenth in the second-tier table, but could go level on points with the play-off places if they pick up a seventh win in nine games on Monday night, meaning this is unlikely to be an easy task for Wigan.

With that in mind, we've taken a look at the starting XI Cook could name to face Rovers at Ewood Park.

Having stuck with a 4-2-3-1 formation for much of the season, we expect Cook to go with this lineup again on Monday night.

In goal, Jamie Jones could continue with the fitness of Wigan's number one David Marshall still seemingly uncertain.

One change that Wigan could make could come in defence, where Chey Dunkley ought to take the place of makeshift midfield stand-in Kal Naismith in the centre of the back four, having returned to the bench in the 1-1 draw with Huddersfield last week following suspension, with Cedric Kipre likely to retain his place in the lineup due to the on-loan Charlie Mulgrew being ineligible to face his parent club.

The full-back roles should once again go to the largely established Antonee Robinson and Nathan Byrne, while the combative pairing of captain Sam Morsy and Lee Evans should also remain in the holding midfield roles.

Another change could come in the attacking midfield positions, where Anthony Pilkington - one of the Latics' biggest attacking threats this season - could start after returning from injury off the bench against the Terriers, alongside their goalscorer in that game, Josh Windass, and Gavin Massey.

Upfront, with Kieffer Moore another whose fitness still looks unclear, it could be another summer signing in the shape of Jamal Lowe who leads the line for Paul Cook's side on Monday, just as he has done in the last two outings made by the Latics.
