Frank Lampard has yet to make major moves in the transfer market as he gears up for his first season as a manager which begins on August 3rd.

In fairness, the Chelsea legend has taken over a Derby side that made the play-offs last season and acknowledged that wholesale changes weren't needed.

Yet, there are clear areas where the Rams can improve but Lampard may not get the significant backing that previous managers have had at Pride Park, as owner Mel Morris looks to balance the books somewhat.

Nevertheless, he will still have a competitive budget but could look to some free agents who may command a decent wage.

Here we look at three available players who would surely interest Lampard ahead of the new season...

The Rams boss knows Terry very well and that close relationship could be a deciding factor as the former England captain considers his next move.

As well as helping the dressing room with his winning mentality and professionalism, the 37-year old proved at Aston Villa last season that he can still cut it in the second tier.

This would be a risky move given his lack of football over the years but Lampard could be the man to revitalise Rodwell's career.

He has a point to prove and would have to take a huge paycut from what he was on at Sunderland but at 27-years old he should still have a lot to offer and he is a player that has commanded huge fees in the past, so the talent should be there.

The former Wolves winger has just left Crystal Palace and despite a strong finish to his time at Selhurst Park, he didn't really do enough over the years.

Yet, in the Championship Sako could be a star. He displayed that with Wanderers where he was very productive and he would add a lot to the Derby XI.
