Preston North End will look to make it three straight wins on Saturday afternoon, when they host Swansea City at Deepdale.

Following their 3-0 win at Barnsley last time out, Preston go into this game just one place and one point off the play-off places, meaning they could take a big step in their push for promotion with victory this weekend.

Swansea, however, are just a point and a place further back of North End, meaning they too will be harbouring aims of a return to the top-six on Saturday, making this a difficult task for Preston.

With that in mind, we've taken a look at the starting lineup that Preston manager Alex Neil could name to give his side the best possible chance of taking all three points here.

Having experimented somewhat with a different formation at struggling Barnsley last time out, we imagine the threat posed by Swansea could tempt Neil to revert to a more familiar 4-2-3-1 system on Saturday.

In goal, Declan Rudd looks set to continue between the posts, having been a largely reliable figure as the club's first-choice stopper so far this season.

One change Neil could make comes in defence, where Andrew Hughes could return in place of Joe Rafferty at left-back, after making the step back into the action in a reserve game this week, with an otherwise reliable back four of Ben Davies, Patrick Bauer and Darnell Fisher likely to remain the same.

In the holding midfield roles, with Paul Gallagher only recently returning to training after injury, we expect Ben Pearson and Alan Browne to continue their more than effective partnership in that part of the pitch.

Further forward, having both found the net in their 3-0 win at Barnsley last time out, top scorers Daniel Johnson and Tom Barkhuizen should both be confident heading into this one, meaning they ought to be in a strong position to start on Saturday.

Joining them upfront, the promotion-winning, big-game experience of Scott Sinclair means this feels like the perfect sort of game for Preston's sole January signing, while Sean Maguire may come back into the side after dropping to the bench for that win at Oakwell despite impressing with some of his recent performances leading the line for Alex Neil's side.
