Sheffield United of Sky Bet League One are interested in Bristol Rovers striker Matty Taylor, reports from the Yorkshire Post say.
The 26-year-old has been the subject of interest from a number of clubs this summer, including the likes of Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic from the Championship. Although it is the Blades who are most recently targeting Taylor with manager Chris Wilder struggling to hit the ground running so far in the new season.
The forward has one goal to his name so far this campaign for Bristol Rovers, and that was in the opening game away at Scunthorpe United which the Gas lost 3-1.
Sheffield United have just one point to their name in League One, losing on their travels at Bolton Wanderers last week and being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Rochdale at the weekend.
Matty Taylor will come at some expense though, as he signed a new contract in the summer at the Memorial Stadium after finishing last season with 27 goals.
The Bramall Lane outfit have already added Leon Clarke to their striker options, buying the 31 year-old for an undisclosed fee from Bury.
Reports also suggest Chris Wilder is looking at Sheffield Wednesday forward Caolan Lavery, following the departure of Che Adams to Birmingham City.
Sheffield United fans, what do you think? Would Taylor be a good signing? Is a goalscorer what’s needed at Bramall Lane? Let us know!
