Marcelo Bielsa will be pleased with Leeds United’s start to the season, although the Argentine will be hoping that his side can pull away in the race to secure automatic promotion in the comings weeks.

Leeds have 30 points on the board from their opening 16 fixtures of the season, with Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Wigan Athletic showing what Leeds are all about with their press and high-intensity football.

Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe were on the scoresheet in Wigan, with the duo impressing for the Whites.

A number of other players also stood out, with Kalvin Phillips producing a Man of the Match performance in a slightly deeper role to Leeds’ goalscorers.

However, there are a few members of Bielsa’s squad who aren’t impressing, with supporters pointing that out after victory in Wigan.

Here at FLW, we identify TWO players that are hot at Elland Road right now and TWO that are not…

Hernandez is key to how Leeds play, with the Spaniard offering that little piece of quality in the final third.

The 33-year-old is always looking to create and has certainly stepped up this season on the right wing.

Whilst Hernandez shines on the right, Alioski is struggling for consistency on the left.

The 26-year-old has incredible work-rate, but he lacks the quality that Hernandez’s possesses in the final third.

He’s often the scapegoat.

Douglas missed four fixtures with a hamstring injury but returned against Wigan, showing his quality at left-back.

Leeds missed Douglas, who provides a lot in both attack and defence.

It’s great to see him back.

On the opposite side of defence to Douglas is Stuart Dallas, who is deputising for Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi.

Dallas enjoyed a good afternoon against Wigan on Sunday, but bigger tests are to come, which supporters are aware of.

There’s not much faith in Dallas’ ability to defend in the full-back position.
