Sheffield United’s latest recruit, Enda Stevens, has taken to his personal Twitter account to express his delight at joining the Blades, insisting he “can’t wait to get started.”

Stevens became Chris Wilder’s third summer signing last night when he agreed a three-year deal at Bramall Lane, following Ched Evans and Nathan Thomas to the club, ahead of the Blades’ first appearance in the Sky Bet Championship since 2011.

Delivering a message to the Blades on social media, Stevens said: “Delighted to have joined @SUFC_tweets thank you for all the welcoming messages. I can't wait to get started.”

The 26-yar old’s move to Bramall Lane ends a two-year association with Portsmouth, where the left-back made 99 appearances for the club.

During the 2016/17 campaign, Stevens featured on 46 occasions, helping Pompey to promotion and the League Two title.

Stevens had also took to Twitter to deliver a message to his former club, which read: “Thank you to @officialpompey manager, staff, players & fans had a great 2 years at a great club & wish you all the best next season.”
