Cardiff City midfielder Will Vaulks has shared his post match thoughts after impressing for the Bluebirds in their 2-1 win against West Brom on Tuesday night.

He played the entirety of the match alongside Marlon Pack in a midfield duo, just the second time he had completed the full 90 since moving from Rotherham United in the summer.

And he was clearly delighted with the overall display, writing on Twitter: "Get in there!! First start at the CCS and a win against top of the league, doesn’t get much better. What a save from Al at the end, made even better after what he’s gone through the last few days."

QUIZ: Can you name the club these 14 ex-Cardiff players are playing for now?

The match had to wait until the second half to really kick into gear and it was the hosts who opened the scoring, Callum Paterson tapping home from a rebound.

Just after the hour mark and the Baggies were level, however, Charlie Austin finishing asuredly from the penalty spot after Jazz Richards was fouled in the box by Filip Krovinovic.

However there was one moment of magic left. 16 minutes from time, substitute Lee Tomlin clipped a delightful free-kick into the top corner to give Neil Harris and his side a big win.

The verdict

Harris looks eager to get the very best after Vaulks and it looks like he is slowly getting there.

Last season saw him net seven goals and assist seven more in the Championship for the Millers so there is certainly a very good player in there.

He appears to be forming a good partnership with pack, with the duo seemingly complementing eachother's styles very nicely, and it will be interesting to monitor how he improves over the coming weeks as well.
