Lincoln City go to Gigg Lane tomorrow for the first of five trips to clubs in the top six that will go some way to defining their season.

They've currently got a six point lead over rivals Bury and have a game in hand, so any sort of result for the leaders would leave them in a strong position over their promotion rivals.

With Mansfield, MK Dons, Carlisle and Forest Green all yet to host Danny Cowley's side, the pressure will be on them to maintain that lead and keep their momentum going through to the end of the season.

They've been active in the transfer market this week, raiding Ipswich for a couple of players and securing Mark O'Hara on loan from Peterborough United. It gives the Imps some serious options going into this six point clash.

Here's the XI we think Cowley should start tomorrow v Bury.

There's competition for places all over the field, even in goal. Josh Vickers has been carrying an injury recently, but last year's National League Keeper of the Year Grant Smith has ably deputised when called upon and will be a safe pair of hands.

The full backs are largely expected to remain the same, but in the middle of defence there's more competition. New signing Cian Bolger partnered Michael Bostwick last weekend against Grimsby, but Jason Shackell came in for the trip to Yeovil and that pushed Bostwick into the midfield. We expect to see the same again this weekend.

That means Lee Frecklington, Michael O'Connor and new signing Mark O'Hara will all be vying for the other starting place in midfield. It's likely O'Hara will get the nod, he took some convincing to join the Imps and the other two have played a lot of football recently for men well into their thirties.

With Bruno Andrade suspended there's a toss up on the left between Tom Pett and new face Jordan Roberts. With 12 Championship games under his belt, Roberts will surely start and be joined by Danny Rowe, who will keep Shay McCartan on the bench.

That leaves John Akinde and Harry Anderson as two players who retain their place after two wins and two clean sheets in four days this week.
