Sheffield United had nothing short of an amazing Easter weekend as their automatic promotion hopes were given an enormous boost.

Two defeats for promotion rivals Leeds United opened the door for them to reclaim the initiative in the race to the Premier League which they did emphatically.

A 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest on Good Friday was followed up with an emphatic 3-0 win against Hull City.

They managed to pull off both wins without the help of star striker Billy Sharp and huge credit must go, as always to the rigid back line.

With just 39 goals conceded all season, the Blades have the joint best defensive record in the second-tier and nobody has been more impressive in that unit than Jack O'Connell.

The 25-year-old has played in 39 of their second-tier matches this season but was still deprived a spot in the PFA's Team of the Year when it was announced on Wednesday.

Leeds duo Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper were picked instead.

But how should he be feeling after this snub?

Sheffield United have long had the most impressive defensive unit in the Championship so for none of them to be included in the team of the year is baffling.

With O'Connell being the most impressive of the lot as well, he has particular reason to feel rather downbeat after the announcement.

What more does he have to do to impress his fellow pros?
