It has been a tough couple of weeks for Nottingham Forest, who have dropped down to eighth in the Sky Bet Championship table after a series of disappointing results.

The Reds had sit within touching distance of the automatic promotion places before the international break, after defeating arch rivals Derby County by a goal to nil at the City Ground.

But fast-forward a month, and Sabri Lamouchi's side have picked up just one win from their next six league games since the home victory over the Rams.

At the weekend, Forest fell to their worst home defeat in over eight years, as Sheffield Wednesday came to town and put four goals past Brice Samba in the Forest net.

It was a perfect opportunity for Forest to return to winning ways after being held to a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough in midweek, where they produced a toothless display in front of goal.

But whilst their quality in attack was once again questionable at the weekend, it's the Reds' defensive performances that are starting to become slightly worrying.

Forest had conceded just 13 goals before the victory over Derby, with Tobias Figueiredo stepping in for the injured Michael Dawson and forging a solid partnership with Joe Worrall at the back.

But Dawson has since been reintroduced to the starting line-up, replacing the impressive Figueiredo who didn't really put a foot wrong in the former's absence.

Forest have now conceded eight goals in their last four games, and allowed Jordan Rhodes and Steven Fletcher to bully their back-line as they secured a 4-0 win at the weekend.

Figueiredo's confidence is likely to have been shattered after being dropped for Dawson - the defender scored in the 4-0 win over QPR, and produced a string of solid displays for the Reds when called upon.

But after losing 1-0 to Cardiff and drawing 2-2 at Millwall, the Portuguese defender was soon out of the team and replaced by Dawson, who has struggled to replicate the form he displayed in the early stages of the campaign.

Lamouchi is now expected to make changes as his side prepare to face Huddersfield Town in Yorkshire next weekend, and the 25-year-old should be banging Lamouchi's door down and urging the Frenchman to start him against the Terriers.
