After a poor season last year, Birmingham City are looking to push further up the table in the new campaign.

There has been a lot of change at the club recently with Lee Bowyer being let go as manager whilst John Eustace has come in, in his place.

As it stands, the ownership of the club is still uncertain too.

Nonetheless, the Blues are keen to add to their squad and have announced the signing of Przemyslaw Placheta from Norwich City on a season long loan deal.

The 24-year-old made 12 appearances for the Canaries in the top flight last season and will be hoping he can have a further impact in the Championship next season.

The winger is pleased to be at St.Andrew's ahead of the new season as he told the club's Official Media: "I am really happy to join Birmingham! The time when I got the message that Birmingham is one option, I was really happy to join and come to Birmingham.

"I can't wait to join the team at the training camp as well and to get to know every player, the staff and the Head Coach."

Discussing what he aims to bring to the side, the player said: "I am really quick. I can bring speed to the team and can play both with and without the ball, but with the ball, I like to dribble. I want to help the team and give my best to help the team achieve their goals."

The Verdict:

This is a good move for both parties. Placheta needed a move to secure himself some more regular football as that didn't seem to be in line for him at Carrow Road next season.

As the player says himself, he's someone with plenty of pace and will be hoping he can add significantly to the Blues' attacking options.

It's clear that he is eager to be at the club which is what Birmingham need ahead of next season as they want players who are keen to be there and will therefore help in the push for success.
