According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United winger Sammy Ameobi is set to extend his stay at Bolton Wanderers until the end of the season.

Sammy Ameobi is currently impressing at League One promotion hopefuls Bolton Wanderers but his current loan deal expires in January.

Bolton manager Phil Parkinson is desperate to keep the Newcastle winger at the Macron Stadium beyond the end of his loan deal and it is likely that a loan extension will be sanctioned.

The 24-year-old is said to be enjoying his stay at Bolton and has scored 4 goals in 20 appearances.

This has included two brilliant goals recently against Sheffield United in the FA Cup and in Bolton’s 4-0 rout over Gillingham on Sky Sports.

With his future looking bleak at St James’ Park and his contract due to expire in the summer, Bolton might have explored the option of a permanent deal.

But it appears a loan is more likely in January.
