As we prepare to enter the fourth month of the 2019/20 EFL campaign, it seems as if Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi already has one eye on the January transfer window.

The Reds have slipped out of the automatic promotion places and dropped down to 10th spot in the Sky Bet Championship table, after a couple of disappointing results of late.

Lamouchi fell to two defeats in quick succession last week, losing against Wigan Athletic and Hull City, and were unable to make amends against Reading at the weekend due to a waterlogged pitch.

But nevertheless, Forest are still in a healthy league position, and if they win their game in hand against the Royals, they are likely to be back in the top-six.

Lamouchi is expected to clear the deadwood and bring in fresh, new faces in the winter, as he looks to guide his side to promotion to the Premier League.

The Reds have already bid farewell to one first-team player this week - Alex Milosevic leaving the City Ground by mutual consent, after spending less than 10 months on Trentside.

The Swedish centre-half arrived at the City Ground in February, but leaves the East Midlands club after making just 12 appearances in all competitions, failing to feature under Lamouchi.

The timing of the departure has surprised many, but it's one less player for Lamouchi to worry about getting rid of in January.

Another player who should look to follow suit is midfielder Zach Clough, who has been completely frozen out by Lamouchi this term.

The 24-year-old hasn't made an appearance for the Reds in well over a year, since their FA Cup defeat to Hull in January 2018.

The attacking midfielder has been a hugely disappointing figure since arriving at the City Ground, having been a frequent goalscorer for Bolton Wanderers in League One before making the move to Nottingham.

Having been told to leave in the summer, it is highly likely that the former Bolton man will be on his way out in the winter, and perhaps is the right time to leave and put himself in the shop window.

He isn't even featuring for the under-23s on a regular basis, so perhaps leaving the club and training on his own with his own regime elsewhere would do him the world of good.

He is still only young, and if he can recapture his form, he could be a really good signing for a team in the division below.
