Reading midfielder John Swift has stated that the Royals are determined to carry on their good run of performances at the weekend when they take on Millwall.

Swift has been in excellent form so far this season for Reading, and despite the club's poor league position, he has been one of the shining lights in the Royals side.

There has also been a managerial change at the club, with Mark Bowen taking over from Jose Gomes just two weeks ago although he has already picked up four points from two games.

Englishman Swift has created a number of key chances and will be hoping that he can continue to contribute in terms of assists and goals.

The 24-year-old has expressed that everyone is getting their heads down and aiming to win every single game they compete in.

Speaking to Reading's official club website, Swift said: "Everyone has been getting their head down, working hard. We've been training really hard, and it will be the same again.

"We will go into the game like we want to win every single game. Hopefully, the performance will come through.

"We have been on a good run of performances lately and we were unfortunate to not to be able to carry that on against Forest."

The Verdict

Swift has been really impressive so far this campaign for Reading and seems to have put to bed his injury problems and is now looking sharper than ever.

He's creating chances for the front two, and seems to have a good link-up with fellow attacking-midfielder Ovie Ejaria. They've become so crucial to this Reading team, and most of their play comes through the middle.

It'll be interesting to see if Swift can keep this up for the majority of the season, especially with games beginning to come thick and fast in the league.
