Cardiff City will travel to Kenilworth Road on Saturday with their eyes firmly set on taking three points against bottom-of-the-table Luton Town.

Neil Harris' side have had an up and down start to 2020 in the Championship, they were thrashed 6-1 by QPR on New Year's Day and have drawn every other league game since, apart from an impressive 2-1 victory against West Bromwich Albion.

Their recent form has left them down in 12th, seven points off the top six, and the Bluebirds boss has suggested that the next week, which includes three games against sides in the bottom half of the table, is a huge chance for them to get back in the mix.

They'll be looking to kick that off with a victory against Luton, who have lost nine of their last 11 games in all competitions.

With that in mind, here is the XI that Harris looks likely to opt for against the Hatters...

First injury and then links away from the club have caused Neil Etheridge to lose his place in goal for Cardiff, with Alex Smithies stepping up.

Despite Luton's poor form, he could have a busy afternoon as they have been fairly free-scoring this season–finding the net 37 times in the league.

The Hatters' main threats are likely to be forwards James Collins and Harry Cornick, who have 16 Championship goals between them so far.

Cardiff's backline will have to pay close attention to that duo and looks to be made up of centre-backs Sean Morrison and Curtis Nelson, with Joe Bennett and Jazz Richards outside them.

In midfield, Harris has confirmed that Joe Ralls remains sidelined, which means Marlon Pack and Will Vaulks look likely to reprise their roles.

Playmaker Lee Tomlin has had a resurgence for the Bluebirds this season, grabbing six goals and six assists in the Championship and becoming an integral figure.

With that in mind, Harris will likely opt for an attacking midfield three of Tomlin, Junior Hoilett and Jacob Murphy, who found the net twice against Reading in midweek.

Cardiff have not been blessed with an in-form goalscorer this season but summer signing Robert Glatzel has shown signs of improvement.

The German showed his quality with a calm and composed finish in the FA Cup on Tuesday, the Bluebirds no doubt will be hoping to provide him with more chances like that against the Hatters.

Harris has claimed that his side are facing "the biggest week" since he took charge of the club and will be determined to ensure they start that with a win.

The Bluebirds boss suggested that he was happy with the fitness of two of his three January signings earlier this week but you feel he may look to introduce them from the bench before opting for a start.
