Hull City are looking to bolster their forward line in the January transfer window.

According to reports from Bristol Live,  the Tigers and Huddersfield Town are eyeing up the possibility of a loan switch for Bristol City forward Sammie Szmodics ahead of a crucial second half of the season.

The 24-year-old has found first team opportunities hard to come by since arriving at Ashton Gate from Colchester United over the summer.

Szmodics ended a 16-year-old connection with his hometown club in order to move to the Championship side, however things haven't quite worked out for the forward.

He has made just two appearances in the Championship for Bristol City, leading to speculation that he could move on in search of more regular gametime.

But what could he bring to the KCOM Stadium? We take a look at his statistics from last season to find out.

It was quite a season for Sammie Szmodics.

The forward was in stunning form for Colchester United as he guided them to an 8th place finish in League Two.

The 24-year-old was a near ever-present for the U's, having featured on 48 occasions for them.

In that time, Szmodics racked up an impressive 15 goals, making him Colchester United's top goalscorer for the season.

In addition to that, the forward picked up nine assists, meaning he was also one of the main creative outlets in the team.

This was, in part, down to excellent passing ability.

Szmodics boasted a passing accuracy percentage of 76.1%, while completing an impressive 63.6% of the forward passes that he attempted, meaning he's a player who plays the game on the front foot.

Add to that his dribble success rate of 55.1%, and you start to see why Szmodics is so highly regarded by Hull City and other clubs in the Championship.
