According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Charlie Taylor is not expected to re-join the rest of the Leeds United squad at Thorp Arch later this week for the start of pre-season, despite not yet finding himself a new club.

Taylor has been offered a two-year contract extension by Leeds, but has made it clear he wishes to leave Elland Road as a free agent this summer, having refused to play for the Whites on the final day of the 2016/17 Sky Bet Championship season.

Leeds’ players are set to return to training later this week for pre-season, but Taylor is not expected to be present, as he searches for a move to the Premier League.

It looked like the 23-year old was close to securing a move to West Bromwich Albion, but reports towards the end of last week indicated that Tony Pulis was shelving plans to sign Taylor, with a view of strengthening other areas of his squad first.

Despite Taylor looking set to snub Leeds’ contract offer and a return for pre-season, the rest of the Whites’ squad will be returning, where they will meet head-coach, Thomas Christiansen, for the first time, following his appointment as Garry Monk’s successor.
