Following Newcastle United’s promotion, DeAndre Yedlin has admitted there is no better feeling than “achieving your goal”, but revealed he and his teammates still have further targets this season, reports Chronicle Live journalist, Lee Ryder.

Rafa Benitez’s side put in an impressive display at St James’ Park last night, recording a 4-1 victory over Preston North End to secure promotion from the Sky Bet Championship.

The Magpies have been favourites to finish in the automatic promotion places all season, but with two fixtures of the season remaining, Benitez’s side now have an unassailable lead over third-placed Reading.

Speaking in the aftermath of promotion, Yedlin, 23, was delighted by Newcastle’s achievement, before hinting they were still looking to claim the Championship title, he said: “There's nothing better than achieving your goal, and there's still one more out there.”

Brighton and Hove Albion require just one victory from their remaining two fixtures to secure the Championship title, but Newcastle will be looking to overhaul the Seagulls in the coming weeks.

Benitez’s side are four-points behind Brighton, and require two victories from their meetings with Cardiff City and Barnsley, to put pressure on the leaders.
