Bristol Rovers will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend as they take on Northampton Town at the Memorial Stadium in Sky Bet League Two.

The Gas head into the game off the back of a 5-3 defeat to Exeter City away in the Papa John's Trophy and will know that they have to vastly improve in order to achieve a positive outcome tomorrow afternoon.

Having only won once in their last six games, Bristol Rovers currently occupy 16th in the league standings and Joey Barton will know results will have to turn if he is to stay in the job.

They take on a Northampton side that are riding high in third place after only losing three of their first 15 league games this term.

Here, we take you through our predicted Bristol Rovers starting eleven to take on the Cobblers on Saturday.

James Belshaw will once again be between the sticks for Barton's side, with the summer signing from Harrogate Town having settled in well.

The back four should be made up of Harry Anderson, Connor Taylor, Cian Harries and Junior Brown as Barton looks set to rotate his squad once again.

In midfield, Antony Evans and Paul Coutts will play as the more advanced players of the three whilst Glenn Whelan will sit and screen in front of the defence.

Up top Barton should start with a front three of Sam Nicholson, Brett Pitman and potentially Luke Thomas, providing the latter can pass a late fitness test as doubts persist over whether he will be involved or not.

In the event that the Barnsley loanee isn't available, the Bristol Rovers boss does have other forward options that he could call upon if needs be.

A win for the Gas on home turf could see them move up as high as 13thn if other results go in their favour across the division.
