Birmingham City face a tough game against Luton Town tomorrow as they look to close the gap on the top six.

A 1-0 success over Blackburn at St. Andrew's in the week has left Blues within three points of the play-off places and Pep Clotet will be encouraged with how his side have played over the past few weeks.

So, they will head into the game against the Hatters in high spirits and they will see this as a great opportunity to make it three wins in a row on their own turf.

Given that, the natural inclination for Clotet will be to continue with the same XI that beat Blackburn but the reality is that some changes will be needed for a third game in seven days and here we look at the XI he should go with...

Firstly, you have to say that Blues' defensive unit is settled and whilst some fans are not pleased with the inconsistent Lee Camp, he will continue in goal.

And, the back four will stay the same and that's the right call. All four players have had fine individual campaigns and they have a real understanding of how to play together.

The Spaniard will have to tweak a few things moving forward though. Ivan Sunjic has been the best midfielder at the club this season but he missed the win during the week through suspension.

Even though David Davis did okay, the simple fact is that the 23-year-old Croatian has to start so he should partner the talented Jude Bellingham in the midfield.

Having reverted to a 4-2-3-1 in the week, we expect Clotet to continue with that and the attacking midfield trio will be key.

Kerim Mrabti was handed a surprise start on Tuesday but it would make sense to freshen things up, so Jacques Maghoma deserves a start.

He will occupy one of the wide positions, giving the team width and a direct threat, with Danny Crowley moving centrally as the ten, where he can find pockets and be a constant threat.

Fran Villalba can operate down the opposite flank to Maghoma and the three should provide target man Lukas Jutkiewicz with quality service as Birmingham look to maintain their strong recent form.
