Sheffield United showstopper Dean Henderson has shared an update following a very fruitful Easter weekend for his side.

Taking to Twitter, the Manchester United loanee shared a photograph of himself taken from the crowd in front of the travelling masses of Blades fans at Hull City on Monday.

Writing alongside the short, the 22-year-old wrote: "My fans????????‍♂️".

Henderson has been a crucial part of what is proving to be very impressive side, making 43 appearances since the start of the season.

This weekend's successes got underway on Friday night when Chris Wilder's troops saw off Nottingham Forest with ease at Bramall Lane in a 2-0 win.

Later that day, promotion rivals Leeds United were beaten 2-1 by Wigan Athletic, meaning the two sides drew level on points, before the Blades beat Hull 3-0 on Monday to move three points clear.

A second defeat for the Whites, this time against Brentford, that evening meant the Blades took full control of the race for that second automatic promotion spot.

The verdict

The Easter weekend wins were important in two respects for the Blades.

One, it moved them significantly closer to winning automatic promotion and secondly, as a result they have a much greater chance of securing Henderson's services next season too.

It would have been a surprise had Manchester United chosen to loan him back out into the Championship next season too.
