After ending league leaders Swansea City's unbeaten start to the Championship season last weekend, Nottingham Forest return to action on Saturday afternoon, when they host Barnsley at The City Ground.

Following that victory at the Liberty Stadium, Sabri Lamouchi's side will want to underline their credentials as promotion contenders themselves this season, and could sense an opportunity to do that against a newly promoted Barnsley side who have yet to really settle back into the Championship this season.

With that in mind, there could be plenty for Lamouchi to think about when it comes to selecting his side on Saturday.

Here, we've taken a look at who we think the Frenchman should name for Forest to take on Barnsley at The City Ground.

While Lamouchi should stick with the 4-1-4-1 formation that has worked well for him so far this season, the opportunity to lay down a marker against Barnsley means he may be well served making one or two personnel changes.

None of them should come in defence, however, where Brice Samba ought to remain in goal following another clean sheet last time out at the Liberty.

Again, the back four should remain the same. Yuri Ribeiro should have done enough on his first league appearance of the season last time out to retain the left-back spot, while Michael Dawson and Joe Worrall will surely continue their season-long central defensive partnership, with Matty Cash remaining at right-back in the absence of the still injured Carl Jenkinson.

While Lamouchi may still want to use a holding midfielder, we imagine the desire to retain an attacking impetus means that it should be Samba Sow rather than Ben Watson who takes that role on Saturday, given Malian should be able to combine those roles more effectively.

In front of him, we've gone for Joe Lolley and last week's match-winner Alfa Semedo to come into the starting lineup, with the latter rewarded for that significant late contribution on Saturday.

That would mean Albert Adomah dropping out of the side and Sow dropping back at the expense of Watson, with the impressive Sammy Ameobi and often influential Joao Carvalho retaining their places, as the latter continues his return from injury.

Upfront, the continued absence of Wolves loanee Rafa Mir means that Lewis Grabban should be the man to once again lead the line for Lamouchi's side, as he looks to add to his five league goals already this season.
