The Championship is back after the international break and there's no doubt about the standout fixture of the weekend.

Aston Villa host local rivals Birmingham in what should be a fierce Second City derby at Villa Park at midday on Sunday.

The two sides are separated by goal difference, with Villa one goal better off than Blues going into the clash.

As well as bragging rights, the game is crucial for the two sides as they look to close the gap on the top six, which currently sits at four points.

Dean Smith's hosts will be looking to make it three wins in a row, however, it will be tough against Garry Monk's men who are very good at playing without the ball and on the counter.

The two contrasting styles make the fixture more appealing and there will be a lot of talent on show.

But, who would get in a combined XI? We take a look...

To be honest, the two goalkeeping options are very uninspiring with Lee Camp not always convincing at Blues, as Nyland hasn't with Villa.

However, the Norwegian has just started to show signs that he could come good, with a few vital saves against Derby last time out.

Meanwhile, even though Camp is experienced, he is prone to making mistakes.

Colin is a quality player at this level and very reliable.

He will be tasked with stopping Villa's tricky wingers in what will be a key battle in the game.

The Wales international is in a race to be fit after going off injured for his country and he is a key man for the hosts.

The former Brentford man has been very good this season and is a crucial player under Monk.

Left-back is another tough position to decide, but you have to give the nod to Pedersen who has settled into English football reasonably well.

There are plenty of options out wide and in terms of talent, Yannick Bolasie has to be considered, but he isn't starting games.

Therefore, we've gone for Jota, who is a technically-gifted player. He does frustrate, but has the ability to be a matchwinner.

You could make a case for Maikel Kieftenbeld, but Hourihane is more progressive on the ball and weighs in with crucial goals for Villa.

McGinn is another racing to be fit and it's vital for Villa that he is available.

He is a great all-round midfielder and his energy and work-rate will be needed in the derby.

On his day, Grealish is one of the best players in the Championship and the local lad is the one that Blues will have to stop.

There are several quality options up top and Lukas Jutkiewicz is unfortunate to miss out given his outstanding contributions this season.

However, his partner Adams gets the nod and the former Sheffield United man will be a threat with his pace and power, coming into the clash on the back of a hat-trick.

Abraham has proven himself at this level with Bristol City and is scoring goals for Villa.

He can be unplayable at times and will lead the line for Smith's men.
