Oxford United will be seeking to progress to the FA Cup second round this evening as they take on Bristol Rovers in a first round replay at the Memorial Stadium.

The two sides go head to head once more after they played out an entertaining 2-2 draw back on the 7th November at the Kassam Stadium, with Matty Taylor and Marcus McGuane seeing their goals cancelled out by strikes from Sam Finley and a late Antony Evans penalty.

For Karl Robinson, he will be looking for his side to go one better during a period of fixtures that is as congested as ever as we approach the half way stage of the season, with the new year swiftly appearing on the horizon.

A win for the U's tonight would see them progress to the next round to take on Sutton United at home after the draw was made earlier this month.

Here, we take you through our predicted Oxford United starting eleven for their game against Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup this evening.

Simon Eastwood will continue between the sticks for the U's, with the keeper having performed well for much of the campaign so far.

It appears likely that Robinson will also name the same back four that started in the League One draw against Ipswich Town recently, with Steve Seddon, Jordan Thorniley, Elliott Moore and Sam Long all set to start the replay.

In midfield Herbie Kane should keep his place due to the continued absence of Alex Gorrin through injury, whilst Cameron Brannagan and McGuane should make up the three in the engine room.

Nathan Holland and Mark Sykes should make the cut on the flanks, particularly in the absence of both Sam Winnall (injury) and Gavin Whyte (international duty).

Up top, Taylor is likely to start again against his former club, as he once again seeks to bite the hand that used to feed him.
