Bradford City will be looking to bounce back from defeat against Plymouth Argyle by getting a positive result when they face Macclesfield Town at the weekend.

Bradford currently sit just inside the play-offs in seventh place knowing that they aren’t far off getting back into the automatic promotion spots, having dropped out recently due to two defeats in their last three games.

Gary Bowyer’s side are still on course to be where they expect to be, come May, which is at least within the play-off places. They will look to build momentum heading into a hectic couple of months by taking advantage of a turbulent situation at Macclesfield Town, as they deal with ongoing financial issues, culminating in player and staff unrest.

The Bantams currently have two games in hand on the top two and wins in both would see them go top, along with the chance of results going their way at the weekend.

Here, we take a look at how we expect Gary Bowyer to lineup his side for the trip to Moss Rose…

Bowyer has changed between a standard 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 a lot this season but we expect him to remain with the 4-3-3 that allows his side to take advantage of their attacking depth over their midfield shortages of late.

In goal, Richard O’Donnell will start, continuing his run as an ever-present for the Bantams in the league this season. There is no reason for why he wouldn’t start and with constant injuries seemingly plaguing Bowyer’s selection process, O’Donnell is one player who certainly starts.

Across the back four is expected to be Adam Henley, Anthony and Paudie O’Connor, and Connor Wood. One change here from the defensive unit that fell to a defeat against Plymouth and that is Paudie O’Connor coming back in for Ben Richards-Everton.

O’Connor has seen his game time diminish in recent weeks as he has to settle for stints on the bench. In his seven league starts, the Bantams have lost just once and have won five games, seeing them rise to the top end of the table.

How strong is your knowledge of the Bantams' league finishes in recent years?

In a midfield three will be Hope Akpan, Callum Cooke, and Harry Pritchard. This part of the side presents Bowyer with his biggest selection dilemma, with midfielders Matty Palmer and Jake Reeves nearing their return, but not yet confirmed as fully fit.

This is the midfield that started in the Plymouth game and while they did fall to a defeat, making too many changes to the side for this game would cause more problems when they face a side that they will fancy their chances against.

Playing in attack will be Dylan Connolly, James Vaughan, and Aramide Oteh. This attack is also unchanged and certainly has the quality to get the job done for Bowyer at Moss Rose with a blend of youth and experience along with three players who offer different attributes to the Bantams attack.
