Dundee midfielder Glen Kamara has played down talk of a move away from Dens Park, despite speculation linking him with a switch to the Black Cats, according to the Sunderland Echo.

The 22-year old Finland international has been on international duty this week as reports build that he may be a target for Jack Ross at the Stadium of Light.

After turning in an impressive display in his country's 2-0 victory over Greece, the ex-Arsenal man was asked about a possible move away from Dundee, which he played down.

"I’m more focused on just what is happening here. I focus on the national team, and I do not pay much attention to such a thing."

The report suggests that a host of clubs are interested in signing the midfielder, including fellow Championship side Derby County.

Premier League teams Burnley and Wolves, as well as Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers, have also been linked with a move.

He's out of contract at the end of the season and is free to sign a pre-contract agreement, should he so desire, in January.

The Verdict

He's obviously going to play down the possibility of a move because he's contracted to Dundee right now. It wouldn't be right to start talking transfers, but his agent will know the options already.

He seems to be destined for a division higher than League One, maybe even higher than the Championship, so perhaps Sunderland fans shouldn't hold their breath.
