Lincoln City will be aiming to build upon their recent victory over Sunderland with a positive display against Peterborough United at the Weston Homes Stadium tomorrow.

The Imps, who are currently 11th in the League One standings, produced a stunning performance against the Black Cats at Sincil Bank last weekend as a brace from Tyler Walker secured all three points for Michael Appleton's side.

Currently brimming with confidence, Lincoln will be determined to push on under the guidance of their new manager who previously enjoyed success at League One level with Oxford United in 2016.

Considering that Peterborough have scored the most goals in the third-tier this season, the Imps will have to be on top-form to overcome Darren Ferguson's side on Saturday.

Here, we take a look at the XI we expect Appleton to go with against Posh...

Having utilised the 4-2-3-1 formation in the club's clashes with Blackpool and Sunderland, Appleton will stick by this particular set-up tomorrow.

Josh Vickers is expected to start in goal for the Imps and will be aiming to keep his sixth clean-sheet of the year against Peterborough.

Neal Eardley and Harry Toffolo will occupy the full-back positions whilst Cian Bolger will line up alongside Jason Shackell in the heart of defence.

Whilst Michael O'Connor will be looking to impress once again in central midfield, Appleton may bring Callum Connolly into Lincoln's starting eleven due to the fact that Joe Morrell is currently away on international duty with Wales.

Having illustrated some real signs of promise for Lincoln this season, the 22-year-old will be determined to produce a spirited display against Peterborough this weekend.

Jorge Grant is set to feature on the left-wing whilst Bruno Andrade will occupy the right-hand side of midfield.

Jack Payne will operate in the hole behind forward Walker, who will be looking to add to the seven goals that he has already scored during the 2019/20 campaign for Lincoln.
