Jack Marriott scored his 22nd goal of the season to seal a very late win for Peterborough that moved them into the top six.

The 23-year old is the top scorer in League One and has attracted a lot of attention after a very productive season.

Whilst a host of Championship clubs have expressed an interest, here at FLW we think that Scottish giants Rangers should make a move in the summer for the striker.

The Glasgow side currently have Alfredo Morelos leading the line but the Colombian is another who could be set to move, despite recently signing a new deal.

Big-money bids have come in for the striker from China and if similar offers arrive during the summer it will be hard for Rangers to say no.

However, they shouldn’t worry as Marriott would be a ready-made replacement.

Firstly, he is a real finisher as he has shown this season, scoring all types of goals. His movement is very good and he is sharp in and around the box.

Marriott has a shot conversion rate of 21% which shows he is always getting chances. That’s a good sign as it proves this isn’t a purple patch that some forwards go through.

As well as that, he is only 23-years old and can continue to develop as he gains experience.

Rangers aren’t in a position to go out and sign established stars, instead they need to be clever in the marker and Marriot would represent a smart signing when you consider what a future fee could be if he performs in Scotland and in Europe.

So, whilst losing Morelos would be a blow, Rangers could ease the pain significantly by swooping for the League One star.
